Kinder-Krebs-Hilfe

As a part of its Christmas initiative 2009, Sensix supports the Austrian "Kinder-Krebs-Hilfe" (ÖKKH), which provides help for children with cancer.

The Austrian association Kinder-Krebs-Hilfe sees itself confronted with a range of continuously new challenges in its internal processes - in the area of administration of donations, in the optimal administration of its members, in the simplification of processes or in a more rapid handling of processes. Sensix supports the association ÖKKH by means of a tailor-made CRM solution in order to facilitate a more efficient use of the money from donations, so that children and teenagers suffering form cancer can directly benefit from this money to larger extent.

The Austrian Kinder-Krebs-Hilfe finances itself mainly through donations from private people and companies, and through a smaller amount of money earned from the sale of Christmas cards and calendars. With this money, the ÖKKH supports children and teenagers suffering from cancer, as well as their parents and siblings, according to its motto "giving Strength and Hope – Surviving". It facilitates the optimal treatment and care of the persons affected, helps the families by means of financial contributions, and acts against the treatment of the subject 'cancer' as a taboo. Apart from accurate information, activities and services, the ÖKKH primarily stands up for a comprehensive and all-embracing aftercare.

The main focus of aftercare is on the established aftercare camps, where the young people affected are accompanied on their difficult path back to 'normal' life, which is mostly full of obstacles. Every year, approximately 170 children and teenagers spend exciting and varied weeks of holiday in Austria, enjoying professional psychological and therapeutic care during this time. In order to intensify the aftercare in Austria, the ÖKKH – together with the Salzburger Kinderkrebshilfe (another association that helps children who suffer from cancer) in Seekirchen am Wallersee (Salzburg) – is constructing the "Sonneninsel", an aftercare centre designed according to international standards.
