Sensix strengthens customer management of the Nordwest-Zeitung (German regional newspaper) through new CRM software

Martinsried, 01.02.2010 – The competition for customers becomes increasingly stronger on the newspaper and media market. Everyone competes with everyone – newpapers among each other, the print media with the internet. Therefore, it is crucial for print publications to attract, gain and maintain subscribers, and to do that as efficiently as possible. In this matter the Nordwest-Zeitung relies on an experienced partner. Sensix AG (plc) implemented the customer management solution update.seven especially for the acquisition of new subscribers and their maintenance. As a full service provider focussed on CRM, Sensix has already successfully supported more than 250 national and international companies in their CRM initiatives.
"The decision for Sensix and update.seven was taken after a complex selection process", explains Dörte Schole who is responsible for the database marketing at the Nordwest-Zeitung. "Sensix convinced us through its wide experience in the media sector. The software offers high user friendliness and functionality, and of course, also the costs for the implementation were a decisive factor."
The newly implemented software by Sensix processes address handling, acquisition of new customers, and customer service; the database comprises data of prospective customers and subscribers. Altogether ten users currently access the data stock of addresses at the Nordwest-Zeitung – for post-processing of trial subscriptions, maintenance of address data, and advertising campaigns for attracting new readers as well as for improving customer loyalty. The new CRM system automates these processes. "This facilitates and accelerates processing. Moreover, all customer contacts are collected in a customer history. Through selections we can then easily and quickly analyse the data. The current customers' status is visible and thus, it can be avoided that customers are addressed twice", affirms the database marketing executive.
The first conclusion was absolutely positive: "The data quality has improved substantially through the new duplicate check and through additional information about members of a household and the relations between them", claims Dörte Schole. "With regard to customer loyalty, we have to wait for a longer period of time before being able to analyse the first results." With Sensix as a partner, the Nordwest-Zeitung is now perfectly prepared for the competition for subscribers.
